Answer Engine Optimization
Answer engines don't hand back ten blue links. They give one answer, maybe two.
Answer engine optimization is the work of making sure that answer is you, built on the same content and structure work I've done for eight years.
The Real Job
Answer engine optimization, AEO, is the practice of structuring content so an AI tool, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Gemini, Copilot, can lift it directly into the one answer it gives a user.
A results page shows ten options and lets a person choose. An answer engine picks one, maybe two, and reads it out. If your content isn't structured to be the pick, a competitor's is.
That's a narrower, more specific job than "showing up in AI search" generally. It's the difference between being somewhere in the conversation and being the sentence the model says out loud.
The Distinction
Traditional SEO gets a page shown on a results page.
AI SEO is the umbrella term for the whole shift: getting a business visible anywhere inside AI-generated answers.
AEO is the specific, tactical layer inside that: structuring individual pieces of content so a model can lift them word for word into its answer.
So the skill is more editorial than technical. Clear, direct, self-contained answers to real questions, each one able to stand alone if a model quotes only that paragraph.
The technical foundation still matters too: structured data, entity clarity, a site put together well enough for a model to parse. I handle that as part of the work, with AI running the audit and markup grunt work so more time goes into the content itself.
The Process
Before anything gets written, I check what a business's content looks like today against the real questions its buyers ask, and whether the technical foundation, entity clarity, page structure, supports being cited at all.
Most sites have neither. That gap is the starting brief.
Then I rewrite and build the content itself: answer-first paragraphs, FAQ content, structured comparisons, each piece self-contained enough to be lifted whole into an answer.
Everything ships in your voice, on the real questions your buyers ask, not just the keywords with volume attached.
AEO doesn't show up in Google Search Console. So I track citations separately, the same tracker MarketCraft runs monthly against ChatGPT and Perplexity.
I build the system once. It keeps reporting every month after.
The Approach
Every AEO agency sells you a checklist: add schema, write FAQs, done. Checklists don't get quoted. Specific, well-structured answers do.
The Man + Machine Method splits the work on purpose.
The technical audit and markup run fast, because AI does most of the grunt work there.
And I research your market and your buyers myself, because the questions worth answering come from real conversations, not a keyword tool.
I build the first draft of everything with AI, in your voice. But I edit it like the draft was never good enough on its own, because it wasn't.
Every piece passes through a validation system before it ships, the same one that catches AI's tells before your customers, or a language model, ever sees them.
The Receipts
First-page Google results in 14 weeks, from a single blog post and no organic traffic.

You bring the business. I bring the visibility.
Client Systems
I don't just publish content and leave. I build the systems that keep tracking whether it's working.
That's:
This isn't theoretical. It's what runs my own agency.
One human and a stack of AI operate every page on this site, every email that goes out, and every report a client receives. The tools below are the exact systems doing it.

AEO is the narrow, tactical layer. Most businesses need at least one other channel running alongside it.
Verticals Served
I've worked across 30+ sectors in eight years and 300+ engagements. The pattern isn't the industry, it's the business model: online, service-based, or digital-product companies.
A few examples with real proof behind them:
NordVPN, PandaDoc, Opus Clip, and Gorgias are among the SaaS teams I've written for, from consumer-facing to enterprise.
Built the content engine behind MarketCraft's 0-to-231 search result run, the clearest proof on this page.
Turned existing audiences into recurring revenue and affiliate income without a traditional product or brand behind them.

Still Have Questions?
Ready to Talk?
I work with a small number of clients at a time. It's me and a very small team, and I'd rather deliver excellent results for a few businesses than average results for many. That's also why I don't take endless strategy calls.
So the application asks a few questions first, to see whether we're a fit. If we are, you book a time and we go through your business properly. There's no hard sell on the call, because I've never needed one.
And if I can't help you, I'll point you toward whoever can. Either way, you'll leave with a clearer plan for getting found than you walked in with.
You bring the business. I bring the visibility.
